How to Keep Moving Forward-Part Two

This is the 2nd part of moving forward with inspiration. I fully expect that the first six steps were put to use and practiced.

  • Anticipate setbacks
Let's face it; things aren't always going to go your way and set backs will happen. I don't mind them. A set back is merely an opportunity for a comeback, and everyone loves a good comeback. You learn from your mistakes, reset your course and take action- this time with a greater sense of purpose and drive.

  • Change your questions
We all know the power of asking good questions. Maybe the questions you're asking don't have enough certainty or they're not involving enough. When you ask a question, ask it with absolute certainty -as if you already know the answer and make sure it's positive. If the question isn't formatted in a positive view, you will focus on the negative and that doesn’t help you move forward. If you don’t add some involvement words then you will have a hard time taking ownership of the situation.  For example, if you ask "how can I get the courage to go to the dentist and get this toothache fixed?" You probably never will. To re-word it: "What can I do to build the courage needed to go to the dentist and feel better and enjoy myself pain free?" I'm sure you can point out the forward moving and Involvement words.

  • Seek a mentor or role model
This is a good one. A mentor or role model is your link to reality, your voice of reason and your kick in the butt. This is someone you respect and value the feedback of. You may go through a dozen of these in your lifetime so don’t feel you need to stick with only one. This person doesn’t have to be someone you know. If there is a positive message and you can access it often, it works.

  • Contribute to someone who needs help
Sometimes you need to put your life or situation in perspective. Helping another does just that. Sometimes it's just listening to someone just talk about their situation and not giving any input. Other times you may need to give advice. Now be careful not to take on something you're not ready for, in this case you may want to refer them to an expert.

  • Eliminate negative beliefs & self-talk
Limiting beliefs and dis-empowering self talk is all too common.  It's easy to point out how you did something wrong and point out the flaws but to step back and come up with a solution or ask yourself a good question take some work and practice. The next time you are faced with a challenge or make a mistake- take ownership and accept what you’ve done, then come up with a positive forward moving statement or question to get back on track and not repeat the same thing.

  • Teamwork
Ah teamwork. There is two ways of looking at this. One- Having a team means one person will work harder than the rest and get frustrated by everyone else's incompetence. Two- Everyone comes together and based on their own specialties and talents gets the job done. The difference is the ability to pick your team. Sometimes you are put on a team by a captain or a teacher, nut the team I'm talking about are the people you make into your support network or business partners. A team that can work together can make their brains work together to form the mastermind- and it's this where awesomeness happens.
